Something truly inspiring happened last year at the Uganda Best Farmers Awards—for the very first time, women claimed all the top three spots!
The winners, Nandudu, Kibiwika, and Tusime, showed that farming isn’t just about hard work in the garden—it’s about passion, innovation, and making a real difference in communities.
For many years, the competition was often dominated by men, but 2024 turned out to be a game-changer. These amazing women farmers did prove that women are not just part of the agricultural story—they are leading it!
At Bayaaya Specialty Coffee, we couldn’t be more excited about this milestone. As a women-and-youth-empowering coffee company, seeing fellow women farmers take center stage fills us with pride and motivation.
